Västerås, Sweden- ABB E-mobility AB., announced plans to deploy multiple Terra High-Power (HP) chargers at Ragn-Sells facilities, accelerating the electrification of heavy-duty trucking in Sweden. Supported by the Swedish Energy Agency’s regional electrification pilot, this initiative is part of a 350 million SEK investment in charging infrastructure for heavy transport.
Ragn-Sells is deploying 18 ABB E-mobility Terra HP chargers to meet the demands of their heavy transport sites. These chargers will power over 120 vehicles daily in the first year. Uniquely, Ragn-Sells will also offer charging services to other heavy-duty trucking fleets, supporting the expansion of Sweden’s growing electrified vehicle infrastructure.
Mr. Erik Wastesson, Project Manager at Ragn-Sells Treatment & Detox AB, said, "We chose ABB E-mobility because of their expertise in building and supporting charging infrastructure and that knowledge is critical for establishing long-term, sustainable return on investment for these sites. That experience is something we valued and relied on during this project and at every step along our electrification journey in what is a fast-moving period."
Ragn-Sells secured 45 million SEK from the Swedish Energy Agency to install ABB E-mobility high-power chargers. Currently, ten chargers are operational—four in Marieholm, Gothenburg, and six in Skepplanda, Ale. An additional eight chargers will soon be live at the Högbytorp site.
Mr. Oliver Johnson, Northern Cluster Sales Lead at ABB E-mobility, said, "We’re proud to support Ragn-Sells in deploying solutions that ensure that every electric kilometer driven translates to maximized uptime, increased reliability, and low operation costs. Our industry is poised for exponential growth as innovators like Ragn-Sells harness the ‘regional electrification pilot’ to install charging infrastructure that delivers real ROI for heavy transport operators today and into the future.”
