Hyderabad- Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited., (Rapido) a bike, auto, and cab aggregator, has partnered with Indofast Swap Energy Private Limited., a joint venture between SUN Mobility and Indian Oil, to roll out 10,000 Piaggio E-city Max swappable e-autos across India in the next 24 months. Starting in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and other major southern cities, the partnership aims to add over 1,000 EVs to the public transport system by December 2024.
The partnership between Rapido and IndoFast Energy started with a pilot program in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi last year, aimed at integrating IndoFast Energy’s advanced swappable battery technology into Rapido’s platform. This collaboration enhances the accessibility, efficiency, and convenience of electric vehicles.
Building on the pilot's success, the partnership has established over 100 swap stations in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, enabling auto captains to swap batteries and reduce downtime.
