Israel- REE Automotive Ltd., automotive tech company, has selected Roush Industries to assemble its P7 electric trucks at Roush’s Detroit-area facility. REE will continue producing its REE corner technology at its Coventry, UK site. Roush's assembly team, backed by REE and Motherson, will focus on speed, quality, and scalability, with Motherson handling quality assurance, logistics, and testing.
Roush will assemble REE's P7 electric trucks at its Detroit facility, with a capacity of up to 5,000 vehicles annually. As part of a strategic agreement, Motherson will oversee the global supply chain and logistics, focusing on reducing costs and improving unit economics and margins.
REE's P7 electric trucks are built on four REEcorners, using innovative x-by-wire technology that maximizes interior space by packing key components between the chassis and wheels. This design offers a flat chassis, 35% more interior volume, and the industry’s lowest step-in height. P7 trucks, powered by batteries or fuel cells, are autonomous-ready and supported by 78 service locations across 24 North American dealers, with potential access to over 200 fleets in the U.S. and Canada.
Mr. Josh Tech, Chief Operating Officer of REE, said “We chose to work with Roush because of their proven capabilities and expertise in the commercial EV market, their capacity to scale production, and their understanding of our unique business model, which is to build our vehicles to order, not for inventory. We want to get our trucks in the hands of our customers as soon as possible, while not sacrificing on quality, making sure our customers can count on us as they build their electric commercial fleets. By partnering with Roush, we can concentrate on our core technology and production of the REEcorners while optimizing production costs and reducing go to market times benefiting from their nearly 40-year track record of engineering and manufacturing spans from NASCAR, to lunar terrain vehicles, to the most innovative EVs.”
