Paris, France - Renault Group, an automotive manufacturer, is taking a new step in its electric mobility journey by consolidating all charging activities and related services under the Plug Inn brand. This move is aimed at creating a clearer and stronger charging ecosystem to support the wider expansion of electric mobility across Europe. The rebranding will start with fast-charging stations in France from April and will be extended to other services by the end of the year.
Charging activities that were previously managed under Mobilize Beyond Automotive have now been fully integrated into Renault Group’s commercial operations, improving strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and customer clarity.
Under the Plug Inn brand, Renault Group has brought together all of its charging solutions, including Plug Inn fast charge for ultra-fast charging, Plug Inn powerbox for bidirectional charging with intelligent V2G service, and Plug Inn charge pass for seamless payment access to charging networks across Europe.
Designed to be simple, memorable, and internationally clear, the name Plug Inn combines “Plug,” which directly reflects electric charging, with “Inn,” evoking hospitality, comfort, and service.
Mr. Jérôme Faton, VP Customer Experience & Energy, Renault Group, said “Our priority is to simplify every step of the electric experience for our customers by offering them a reliable, clear and scalable charging ecosystem. With Plug Inn, we are setting a structuring milestone: an infrastructure designed to support, on a large scale, the ramp-up of zero-emission mobility in Europe. Beyond a change of name, Plug Inn embodies a strong industrial and technological ambition: to create a reference standard, harmonise the charging experience, and support the acceleration of electric vehicles by focusing on service quality, transparency and trust. This is how we will help make the transition to all-electric mobility a simple, seamless and accessible reality for everyone.”
From April, Renault Group will rename its Mobilize fast charge network as Plug Inn fast charge, while continuing its goal of delivering one of the best fast-charging experiences in France. Introduced in 2023, the network is built around ultra-high-power chargers of up to 320 kW, allowing compatible EVs to regain up to 400 km of range in about 15 minutes.
The network has also earned recognition in the Chargemap rankings for its reliability, user experience, and well-planned territorial coverage, reflecting the progress made in recent months. Renault Group aims to expand the network to 93 stations by the end of 2026, further strengthening national coverage.
Most Plug Inn fast charge stations are located at Renault dealerships near major road corridors, making them accessible, visible, and well connected locally. Open to all electric vehicle brands, the stations are designed to provide a simple, comfortable, and dependable charging experience for both daily use and long-distance travel, supported by over 99% reliability, round-the-clock maintenance, Plug & Charge compatibility, premium lounges at selected sites, and clear, attractive pricing for Renault Group customers.
