Delhi- Renault., has announced the return of the Renault Duster to the Indian market with a new-generation model, introduced as part of the company’s Renault International Game Plan 2027. First launched in India in 2012, the Duster established the compact SUV (B+) segment and has since played a significant role in shaping customer preferences in one of the country’s fastest-growing vehicle categories.

Since its global debut in 2010, the Renault Duster has recorded close to two million sales worldwide. In India, cumulative sales have exceeded 200,000 units, contributing to the steady growth of the compact SUV segment, which accounted for around 14% of passenger vehicle sales in 2025. The new-generation Duster has been developed to build on this foundation, with a focus on robustness, practicality, and everyday usability, while integrating modern design, updated technology, and improved performance.

The new Duster retains the rugged character of its predecessor while adopting a more contemporary design. Muscular proportions, strong shoulder lines, and a 21.2 cm ground clearance underline its SUV stance. The front features a trapezoidal grille with full LED headlights, while a horizontal LED light strip at the rear emphasizes width and stability. Functional SUV elements such as skid plates, lower body protection, pronounced wheel arches, roof rails, and sculpted bumpers are integrated with attention to aerodynamics and build quality.

The vehicle measures 4.34 m in length, 1.81 m in width, and 1.66 m in height, with a 2.66 m wheelbase, balancing compact exterior dimensions with interior space. Approach and departure angles of 25.7° and 29.2° support off-road capability, complemented by reinforced chassis stiffness and engine protection. Six exterior colours will be offered at launch, including the new Jade Mountain Green, with an optional two-tone finish.

Inside, the new Duster features a redesigned cabin focused on comfort and connectivity. The horizontal dashboard incorporates the OpenR twin-screen layout, combining a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (7-inch on entry variants) with a 10.1-inch central touchscreen. The system supports Google Automotive Services, including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and access to the Google Play catalogue via the OpenR Link system.

Interior convenience features include an e-shifter, electric parking brake, wireless charging pad, multiple USB-C ports, cooled storage, and a total of 33 litres of cabin storage. Comfort is enhanced through power-adjustable ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 filtration and ioniser, and improved acoustic insulation. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air vents and generous legroom, while a panoramic sunroof is also available. Boot capacity stands at 518 litres, expandable to 1,789 litres with the rear seats folded.

The powertrain lineup is led by the E-Tech 160 full-hybrid system, pairing a 1.8-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors and a multimode automatic transmission. With a combined output of 160 hp and a 1.4 kWh battery, the hybrid system allows all-electric driving for a significant share of urban use, improving efficiency and reducing fuel consumption by up to 40%, with an overall driving range of around 620 miles.

Additional petrol options include a 1.0-litre Turbo TCe 100 with 100 hp and 160 Nm paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and a 1.3-litre Turbo TCe 160 delivering 160 hp and 280 Nm, available with either a manual or dual-clutch transmission. Suspension hardware consists of McPherson struts at the front and a rear torsion beam, tuned to balance comfort and stability across varied road conditions.

The new Renault Duster is equipped with 17 advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and driver attention monitoring. Low-speed manoeuvring and parking are supported by a 360° camera, flank protection, and multiple proximity sensors. Automatic high-beam control and weather recognition are also included, with system settings accessible via the central touchscreen or the My Safety Switch.
