Dusseldorf, Germany- Rheinmetall AG., has secured a substantial order from a valued customer in the commercial vehicles sector. The order, spanning several hundred thousand back pressure valves, stems from a longstanding relationship with the customer and ongoing tailored production. This latest contract amounts to a significant figure in the lower double-digit million-euro range.
Having collaborated for over a decade, Rheinmetall, as a Tier 1 supplier, has been consistently providing back pressure valves to the customer. The focus of the current order is on diesel-powered light commercial vehicles intended for the Japanese market. The production of these valves for the specified manufacturer is already in progress and is scheduled to continue until the conclusion of 2026. Additionally, the contract includes the supply of spare parts, equivalent to 10% of the overall contract value.
Back pressure valves play a crucial role in regulating exhaust gas recirculation rates, particularly as stringent emission standards drive the commercial vehicle industry towards continual reductions in fine particles and harmful emissions. Rheinmetall stands out as an expert partner in the precision regulation of exhaust gas recirculation systems, catering to diesel- or petrol-powered engines across various vehicle types, such as passenger cars, trucks, and industrial motors. The company's product portfolio comprises high- and low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation systems, cold and hot side layouts, 'smart or non-smart' options, and a choice between metal or plastic housings, all individually tailored to meet customer specifications.
Despite the increasing emphasis on emission-free mobility, the demand for diesel-powered commercial vehicles remains robust. This new order underscores Rheinmetall's position as a highly competent partner in the global automotive industry, showcasing expertise in both modern electric vehicles and conventionally powered vehicles.
