Chennai - Royal Enfield., a brand of Eicher Motors Limited and a motorcycle manufacturer, has launched the Classic 650 in India, blending the iconic design of the Classic 350 with its popular parallel-twin engine.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is set to feature the proven 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering a robust 47hp of peak power and 52Nm of torque. This engine, known for its reliability and smooth performance, will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, ensuring an engaging and refined riding experience.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin inherits its internal ratios and final drive gearing from the Shotgun 650, ensuring a familiar yet refined riding experience. It also shares key structural components with the Shotgun, including the main frame, brakes, swingarm, and twin shock absorbers. The suspension setup remains identical as well, offering 120mm of travel at the front and 90mm at the rear, promising a balanced and comfortable ride across various road conditions.
When it comes to differences, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin stands apart with its retro-inspired 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheel setup, in contrast to the Shotgun 650’s more modern 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. Another unique feature of the Classic 650 is its brand-new MRF Nylohigh tyres, specially developed to enhance its riding dynamics and classic appeal. Weighing in at 243kg, the Classic 650 will be the heaviest Royal Enfield model upon launch, surpassing the Super Meteor 650 by 2kg and the Shotgun 650 by 1kg, further emphasizing its substantial road presence and robust build.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will be offered in four distinct color options: Red, Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome, each enhancing its vintage-inspired aesthetics. The Classic 650 remains an attractive choice for riders seeking a blend of heritage styling, modern performance, and exceptional value within the Royal Enfield 650cc lineup.
