Shanghai, China- SAIC Motor Corporation., has unveiled the Roewe M7 DMH, its latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), boasting an impressive total driving range of 2,050 kilometers. Designed by former Rolls-Royce design chief Jozef Kaban, the Roewe M7 combines luxury styling with functionality, highlighted by its bold vertical waterfall grille. Available in three trims, the sedan is priced to appeal to a wide range of consumers in China.
M7 is SAIC’s self-developed DMH 6.0 Super Hybrid System, pairing a 1.5L engine with a front-mounted electric motor. The system enables a top speed of 185 km/h and 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 7.9 seconds. Power is supplied by a lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering 160 km of pure electric range and supporting DC fast charging from 30 to 80 percent in only 20 minutes.
Beyond performance, the Roewe M7 showcases advanced smart technology. It features ByteDance’s Doubao AI assistant, which responds to natural voice commands for convenience and comfort. For example, a command like “help me get my child to sleep” triggers an automatic routine that adjusts the cabin temperature, fan speed, and windows while playing a bedtime story.
Safety and driver assistance are equally emphasized. The M7 offers optional Level 2 ADAS functions, including highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA), forward collision warning, and blind spot monitoring. The flagship variant adds AI mCDC suspension, which actively scans the road to adjust damping for a smoother ride.
Inside, the sedan is designed for practicality and comfort, with 31 storage compartments and a 527-liter trunk. The cockpit is equipped with a heated two-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch 2.5K infotainment display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor.
