Treviglio, Italy - SDF S.p.A., a Deutz-Fahr brand and an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has signed a new Regional Retail Distribution Agreement appointing Grupo JAP., an automotive company, as the exclusive importer of Deutz-Fahr tractors across Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. The agreement marks a strategic milestone in expanding Deutz-Fahr’s footprint in East Africa.

Under this partnership, Grupo JAP will distribute Deutz-Fahr tractors through its local entities - Mobikey Tanzania, Mobikey Kenya, and Mobikey Uganda, bringing reliable products and tailored support to farmers and dealers. The new Deutz-Fahr lineup, ranging from 25hp to 336hp, meets the diverse mechanization needs of East African agriculture across various crops and soil conditions. This agreement also underscores SDF’s commitment to orchard value chains, supporting the region’s growing demand for specialized equipment and boosting agricultural productivity and export potential.

Mr. Alessandro Maritano, Chief Commercial Officer of SDF, said,"We are pleased to have reached this agreement, which marks a significant milestone in strengthening our presence in key growth markets such as East Africa. This is confirmed by the value of our in-house expertise and local market know-how to achieve global diversification challenges and executing distribution strategies differently to our legacy competitors."

As part of the partnership, SDF and Grupo JAP aim to boost mechanization, strengthen local presence in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda, and offer tailored after-sales support. Both have also committed to investing in local agriculture over the next five years to drive sustainable growth.

Mr. Lodovico Bussolati in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, CEO of SDF, said, “This marks a significant milestone in SDF Group’s growth journey in Africa, reflecting our commitment to building strong partnerships and ongoing investment in the development of East African countries.”

With this latest agreement, SDF reaffirms its commitment to partnering with local stakeholders and driving sustainable agricultural growth across East Africa.
