Treviglio, Italy – SAME Deutz-Fahr (SDF)., a tractor, harvesting machines, and diesel engines manufacturer, has officially opened a new building at its Lauingen, Germany site. This facility will accommodate the company’s sales, administrative, service, and R&D teams, underscoring SDF’s strong commitment to its German operations.
Spanning 1,700 square meters, the new building provides workspace for 80% of the employees at this location. This development is part of a broader plan that started in 2017 with the establishment of the Deutz-Fahr Land production plant, which focuses on producing high-horsepower tractors up to 340 HP. The expansion continued with the creation of the Deutz-Fahr Arena, an innovative customer center featuring a spacious indoor area housing the Deutz-Fahr Museum, a cinema, showroom, and multiple conference and training rooms.
The new building complements the existing site with bright, open interiors that promote collaboration and include dedicated areas for focused work. Break zones support informal interactions and teamwork. Built with sustainability in mind, it features eco-friendly materials and advanced IT infrastructure for a future-ready workspace. Outside, 4,000 square meters of green space and 32 newly planted trees enhance the environment.
Built to meet the KfW 40 EE energy efficiency standard, the building adheres to rigorous sustainability and efficiency criteria. It features a 53 kWp photovoltaic system paired with a state-of-the-art heat pump, enabling largely self-sufficient energy consumption.
Mr. Lodovico Bussolati, CEO of SDF, said, “The new building inaugurated today is further proof of SDF’s commitment to investing in the Group’s German site, which includes Deutz-Fahr Land and Deutz-Fahr Arena. We are striving not only for design, production, and technological excellence, but also to create a welcoming work environment that fosters collaboration across different teams. In this context, the Deutz-Fahr brand confirms itself as the Group’s flagship brand.”
Mr. Alessandro Sapio, COO of SDF Deutschland GmbH, said, “The new building represents a modern, functional, and future-oriented working environment. The construction solutions we have adopted ensure excellent energy efficiency and sustainability, in line with the highest industry standards.”
