Las Vegas, USA - SANY Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a heavy machinery manufacturer, has unveiled its new SSR212 single-drum roller at ConExpo 2026, highlighting a standard high-traction mode designed to improve performance on steep slopes, loose soil and rough terrain. The new machine is aimed at compaction work involving soil, gravel and base materials across road construction, site development, housing subdivisions and large-scale earthwork projects.
The SSR212 has an operating weight of 27,337 pounds in the smooth-drum configuration and 29,321 pounds with a padfoot drum. It is powered by a 160-gross-horsepower Cummins QSB4.5 Tier 4 Final diesel engine that delivers up to 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The roller features an 84-inch-wide drum and reaches a maximum travel speed of 6 mph.
The machine comes with a wide range of standard features focused on productivity, comfort and ease of operation. These include a lowered ROPS/FOPS-certified cab for improved visibility, increased stability and reduced transport height, along with a 7-inch touchscreen display integrated with a backup camera. Additional standard features include automatic eco mode, auto idle shutdown and a three-speed throttle switch.
Operator comfort has also been emphasized in the SSR212. The roller is equipped with automatic heating and cooling control, a heated air-suspension cloth seat with adjustable armrests, an adjustable tilt steering wheel, a self-defrosting rear window, a front windshield wiper with adjustable speed, a cupholder, AM/FM radio, USB charging and Bluetooth connectivity.
For compaction performance, the SSR212 uses an upgraded Danfoss vibration system with selectable dual vibration frequencies of 24–32 Hz and 28–36 Hz, along with dual amplitudes. The machine also features single-lever control for travel and vibration and simplified service access to support easier maintenance.
The roller can be configured with either a smooth or padfoot drum and is available with a cab or open canopy. In terms of performance, it offers a centrifugal force of 73,300 pounds, gradeability of 65 percent with the smooth drum and 55 percent with the padfoot drum, 35 degrees of articulation and a 10-degree oscillation angle. Its overall dimensions are 18 feet 11 inches in length, 9 feet 10 inches in width and 9 feet 9 inches in height.
