Changsha, China – SANY Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., a construction equipment manufacturer, has announced the launch of the world’s first 50-ton energy-storage reach stacker, expanding its lineup of advanced lifting machinery designed to meet the needs of large-scale renewable energy projects. The breakthrough model reflects SANY’s strategy to support the global transition toward carbon neutrality with powerful, efficient, and sustainable equipment.
Earlier this year, SANY introduced a 65-ton reach stacker, which has been in continuous operation for nearly six months. With the addition of the 50-ton version, the company now offers a broader portfolio to meet diverse project requirements while ensuring high performance, superior energy efficiency, and long operational endurance.
The 50-ton reach stacker offers powerful lifting for ISO containers, stacking up to six units with precision. It boosts energy efficiency with advanced hydraulics and a recovery system that reclaims over 65% of potential energy, while consuming just 1.8 kWh per move. Equipped with a 512 kWh swappable battery, it ensures over seven hours of continuous operation with fast-charging and swapping options.
The first units are scheduled for delivery in August 2025. Together with the earlier 65-ton model, SANY’s new 50-ton reach stacker positions the company at the forefront of green lifting technologies.
By integrating advanced energy recovery and battery-swapping technologies, SANY aims to reduce carbon footprints while improving productivity for operators. The launch underscores the company’s long-term commitment to low-carbon innovation and its role as a key enabler in the global energy transition.
