Horstmar, Germany- Schmitz Cargobull AG., has partnered with RIO enabling the data transfer of Schmitz Cargobull trailer data to the RIO portal and the importing truck telematics data to the TrailerConnect Data Management Center.

Matthias Cordes, Head of Product Management Telematics said that their partnership would enable transportation companies to retrieve a thorough set of truck and trailer data in real time in a single place making easier for dispatchers for scheduling tours and for fleet managers to better direct service calls.

Without the need to install additional hardware, the integration gives a clear, thorough picture of the most important truck and trailer data on a single platform. This allows for the real-time display of data from Schmitz Cargobull Trailer and RIO Truck, as well as full fleet and map information.

Jan Kaumanns, CEO of RIO said, "The interface of RIO with Schmitz Cargobull TrailerConnect® is one of many important steps to further simplify logistics processes. This brings us ever closer to a uniform and clear ecosystem for freight forwarders, ensuring we break down the data silos of days gone by”.

On the TrailerConnect platform, fleet managers may quickly access information on trucks and trailers' telematics. This improves fleet efficiency overall, lowers operating costs, and aids in dispatching, route optimization, and schedule management. In managing truck and trailer maintenance, combined telematics data has benefits. Real-time warnings assist in reducing downtime and breakdowns while planning repair and maintenance tasks.

Under the guiding principle of "100% SMART," Schmitz Cargobull has been outfitting all semi-trailers and curtainsiders as standard with the TrailerConnect® telemetry system since 2018.

Schmitz Cargobull is advancing the industry's digital transformation by making trailer telematics data available and building a solid foundation for the best possible management of a networked and integrated logistics chain for increased efficiency and low total cost of ownership (TCO). If a customer utilizes a third-party system, the TrailerConnect® Data Management Center (DMC), which is incorporated into the TrailerConnect® interface, enables safe data transfer to third-party systems like Transport Management Systems (TMS) or Real Time Visibility Platforms (RTVP).

Consistently more partners are connecting to the interface through the TrailerConnect® Data Management Center.
