Gurugram- Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV)., the apex nody representing Indian electric vehicles sector has been announced by the Management changes for FY2023–24.
The newly elected officers are R K Misra, co-founder of Yulu Bikes and director at Magna Yuma, Akshay Kashyap, MD of Greenfuel Energy Solutions, Umesh Balani, MD of Rotomotive Group, as secretary, Anandi N Sinha, director of group corporate affairs at Uno Minda, as treasurer.
According to SMEV, the new executive committee is made up of business titans who have made remarkable contributions to the ecosystem for electric transportation.
In addition to being a co-founder of Yulu, Misra is credited with founding and exiting Tenet Technologies (sold to Hughes) and Traveljini.com before deciding to quit the business world and focus on public policy and governance concerns. He holds a master's degree from Tokyo University and graduated from IIT Kanpur. He is also a fellow of the Aspen Institute and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
Akshay Kashyap is the CEO of Greenfuel Energy Solutions, a company that specializes in creating low-emission power solutions. He graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology. With over 20 years of experience and a mechanical engineering background, he has held positions with Delhi Fluid Systems and Swagelok Company USA.
Umesh Balani founded Rotomag and serves as its managing director. Rotomag produces electric drives, motors, and gear systems for use in commercial, wind, solar, and electric vehicle applications. Over 2 million of Rotomag's motors and drives, according to the company, are in use across 35 countries. Before, he oversaw the MSME National Council of ASSOCHAM.
