Punjab- SML Isuzu Limited., a manufacturer of light and medium commercial vehicles, has announced significant leadership changes to strengthen its strategic growth and operational capabilities. The Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Mr. Yasushi Nishikawa as Managing Director & CEO, and the re-appointment of Mr. Anuj Kumar Sethi as Associate Vice President (AVP) - Corporate Planning, IT, and Special Application Cell.

Effective 17th April 2025, Mr. Yasushi Nishikawa will join the SML Isuzu Limited Board as an Additional Director (Non-Independent and Executive), he will assume the role of Managing Director & CEO for a period of five years.

Mr. Nishikawa brings over 38 years of international experience with Sumitomo Corporation, holding senior roles across Japan and Mexico. His expertise spans automotive manufacturing, business development, purchasing, import/export, and project management. He previously served as General Manager at Sumitomo Corporation de Mexico, Executive Vice President & CFO at Mazda Motor Manufacturing de Mexico, and President of Sumitomo Corporation de Mexico. Currently, he is Assistant to General Manager at Aerospace Defense & Technology SBU and Sumitomo Precision Products Co., Ltd. With his vast global experience and strategic insights, Mr. Nishikawa is well-positioned to drive SML Isuzu’s growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

The Board has also approved the re-appointment of Mr. Anuj Kumar Sethi as AVP - Corporate Planning, IT, and Special Application Cell for one year, effective 1st April 2025, following his superannuation on 31st March 2025.

Mr. Anuj Kumar Sethi, a mechanical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry, has been re-appointed as Associate Vice President (AVP) at SML Isuzu Limited for a period of one year, effective 1st April 2025, following his superannuation on 31st March 2025.

Mr. Sethi, who joined SML Isuzu in 1988 as an Engineer Trainee, has held leadership roles across production, quality engineering, sales, marketing, service, and spare parts. In his current role, he leads Corporate Planning, driving strategic business plans, oversees digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, and spearheads the development of customized vehicle solutions. His re-appointment ensures continuity in strategic planning, digital transformation, and specialized vehicle development, further strengthening SML Isuzu’s market position.
