Solaris will deliver 96 zero-emission battery buses to Transdev Nederland by late 2025, improving public transport in Utrecht and supporting the transition to a fully zero-emission fleet.
Date: October 17, 2024Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus and Coach Sp. z o.o., a commercial vehicle manufacturer, has received a significant order for 96 zero-emission battery buses from Transdev Nederland Holding, a public transport company. These vehicles are set to be delivered in the last quarter of 2025.
The new fleet will enhance public transportation in the province of Utrecht, central Netherlands, as Transdev Nederland Holding an operator in zero-emission mobility, aims to fully transition its fleet in Utrecht to zero-emission vehicles. Currently, the city operates 50 bus lines, serving around 30 million passengers annually.
Transdev has opted for Solaris' High Energy battery solution, renowned for its high capacity and capability to minimize the need for frequent recharging throughout the day.
Transdev Nederland is already familer to Solaris products; its subsidiary, Connexxion, operates a fleet of 20 Urbino 12 hydrogen buses in South Holland, utilizing advanced fuel cell technology. Additionally, Solaris' Trollino 18 trolleybuses, featuring the distinctive MetroStyle design, have been in service in Arnhem for several months.
