Solaris Wins Order for E- Buses in Szczecin

Owińska, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., a manufacturer of city and intercity buses, has signed a contract with the City of Szczecin for the delivery of 20 articulated Urbino 18 electric buses, which will join the city’s public transport fleet in 2027–2028.

The zero-emission buses will be operated by SPAK and based at the operator’s depot on Klonowica Street in Szczecin. Each vehicle will feature an efficient electric drivetrain and Solaris High Energy batteries, with charging available through both plug-in connections and pantograph systems. The dual-charging configuration will enable opportunity charging at terminal stops and provide sufficient range for demanding urban and suburban routes.

Each Urbino 18 electric bus will accommodate up to 120 passengers, including 35 seated passengers, with 11 seats accessible directly from the low-floor area. The buses will also feature air conditioning and a passenger information system.

A range of advanced driver-assistance and safety systems will be installed, including the Moving Off Information System (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning systems (DDAW/ADDW).

The buses will additionally be equipped with photovoltaic panels to support auxiliary electrical systems, particularly while vehicles are waiting at terminal stops. Szczecin has also selected Solaris eSConnect, the manufacturer’s remote fleet diagnostics and monitoring platform, as part of the contract.
