Stara Opens Automated Parts Distribution Center

Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil - Stara S.A., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has opened a new parts distribution center in Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil, expanding its logistics capacity and strengthening after-sales support for agricultural machinery customers.

The facility will serve Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Pará, Piauí, Rondônia, Roraima, Sergipe and Tocantins, while Stara’s existing center in Não-Me-Toque, Rio Grande do Sul, will continue supporting southern regions. The new setup is designed to bring parts closer to customers, reducing delivery distances and lead times.

The 3,504.95 m² facility is Brazil’s first agricultural machinery parts distribution center to use the fully automated AutoStore storage, picking and dispatch system. It has six loading bays, 18,144 storage locations and capacity for 15,604 different parts.

The center can dispatch up to 14,000 items per day. Seven robots automate storage and picking, while frequently requested parts are positioned for faster access, enabling an average retrieval time of about 15 seconds.

Integrated inventory management, electronic monitoring, safety and traceability systems support faster order preparation and improved stock control. Depending on parts availability and transport selection, some orders can be delivered within a few hours.

Stara also trained employees, dealer parts managers and buyers in materials handling, technical drawings, company systems and AutoStore operations to support the new logistics process.
