Perry, Oklahoma - Subsite Electronics., a brand of Charles Machine Works, Inc. and an electronic construction equipment manufacturer, has introduced the M10 Beacon, a compact and lightweight horizontal directional drilling (HDD) guidance tool engineered specifically for smaller-scale utility installations. This new release fills an important gap in Subsite’s product portfolio, offering a high-performance solution tailored for compact HDD rigs like the Ditch Witch JT5 and similar models.
Measuring under 1 inch in diameter, the M10 is among the smallest HDD beacons currently available. Its ultra-compact form factor is particularly well-suited for tight jobsite conditions and delicate surface areas such as residential lawns, sidewalks, and driveways. The slim profile enables contractors to use smaller drill bits, which in turn helps reduce surface disruption, minimize jobsite clean-up, and generate fewer cuttings, making it an ideal choice for urban or landscaped environments.
Designed to support short bore paths typical of fiber optic cable and other shallow utility line installations, the M10 beacon is optimized for projects that require precision and minimal environmental impact. With a maximum operating depth of 55 feet, it provides sufficient range for most small to mid-sized HDD applications.
To ensure long-term reliability in the field, the M10 beacon is constructed with durability in mind. It features an epoxied antenna for enhanced structural integrity and resilience in rough drilling conditions. The beacon is backed by a standard warranty of one year or 350 operating hours, underscoring Subsite’s commitment to quality and performance.
The M10 beacon is fully compatible with Subsite’s Marksman HDD Guidance System, offering automatic beacon-to-tracker connections for quick setup and reduced operator error. With this launch, Subsite enhances its compact HDD lineup, giving contractors a precise, durable solution for small-bore utility work that minimizes surface disruption.
