New Delhi- Sun Mobility Pvt Ltd., has entered a strategic alliance with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., to establish and implement a battery swapping infrastructure network in India by 2030. The partnership aims to expand to 10,000 battery swapping stations in over 40 cities within the next three years. This initiative will facilitate the smooth transition to electric mobility for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and small four-wheelers through a 'Battery as a Service' (BaaS) mobility solution.

This collaboration integrates Indian Oil's network of over 37,000 fuel stations nationwide with Sun Mobility's battery swapping technology, making it as accessible as conventional fuel stations. It will simplify the EV user experience by providing nationwide access to Battery as a Service (BaaS), thereby addressing concerns related to battery costs, maintenance, replacement, and charging times.

Sun Mobility supports over 25,000 electric vehicles across 20 cities in the country, operating more than 630 stations and utilizing over 50,000 smart batteries. This enables over a million swaps per month, serving diverse customers with two and three-wheelers.

Mr. Chetan Maini, Co— Founder and Chairman of Sun Mobility, Said, "We have created the world's leading open architecture platform for battery swapping that seamlessly supports various electric vehicle form factors across multiple OEMs and are deploying globally in partnership with the world's leading energy companies."
