Chennai - Switch Automotive Mobility Ltd., has announced a key leadership transition. S. Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch, will step down from his role effective 31 August 2025 to pursue opportunities outside the Group. Beginning 1 September 2025, Ganesh Mani, Chief Operating Officer of Ashok Leyland, will take on additional responsibilities as CEO of Switch Automotive Mobility Ltd (Switch India).

This leadership change aligns with the company’s broader strategy to integrate more closely with Ashok Leyland, thereby optimizing operational costs while staying focused on the development of advanced battery-electric buses and light commercial vehicles.

Mr. Dheeraj G Hinduja, Chairman of Switch Mobility, said, “We would like to place on record our appreciation to Mahesh for his significant contributions during his tenure with us. Having achieved EBITDA breakeven in FY25, Switch India is now poised to scale up the business and achieve positive PAT status shortly. Ganesh Mani, with his experience in operational excellence and leading large scale transformation initiatives, will take Switch India to the next phase of profitable growth.”

Switch India currently offers a competitive portfolio of electric commercial vehicles. In the light commercial vehicle category, the company markets the 1.25-tonne IeV3 and the 1.75-tonne IeV4, both available through select Ashok Leyland LCV dealerships. In the electric city bus segment, Switch offers 12-meter buses in both standard and low-floor variants, delivering a range of up to 200 kilometers on a single charge.

With a robust order book exceeding 1,500 electric buses, Switch India aims to double its revenue in FY26, reinforcing its leadership in the domestic electric commercial vehicle space.
