New Delhi- Switch Mobility, of the Hinduja Group., an electric bus and light commercial vehicle manufacture, has commenced deliveries from its landmark 950-unit order for the Department of Transport, Delhi, awarded under the CESL tender. The first batch of SWITCH EiV12 low-floor electric city buses was flagged off today by Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, along with key dignitaries including Dr. Pankaj Singh, Transport Minister; Sh. Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament; Sh. Surya Prakash Khatri, MLA; Ms. Niharika Rai, Commissioner, Department of Transport; Sh. Prince Dhawan, MD, DTC; Dr. Chadda, Senior Advisor, Hinduja Group; R.G. Venkataraman, CCO, SWITCH Mobility; and Saurabh Chaudhary, CEO, Ohm Global Mobility.
Manufactured at SWITCH’s state-of-the-art facility, the EiV12 embodies the company’s “Make in India for the World” vision, combining advanced global technology with Indian manufacturing excellence.
Designed for Delhi’s demanding urban transit needs, the 12-meter ultra-low-floor EiV12 offers seating for 39 passengers and ensures easy boarding, including a wheelchair ramp for differently-abled passengers. The buses are equipped with modern safety and convenience features such as CCTV cameras, panic buttons, GPS tracking, and an advanced Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS).
Powered by floor-mounted LFP batteries, the EiV12 delivers superior stability, safety, and range to meet daily operational schedules. The dual-gun charging system enables rapid charging while optimizing depot efficiency. Additionally, SWITCH iON, the company’s proprietary telematics platform, provides real-time vehicle health monitoring, fleet management, and Intelligent Transportation Management System (ITMS) integration.
