Bengaluru- Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd., an electric bus and light commercial vehicle manufacturer affiliated with the Hinduja Group has successfully supplied five Switch EiV 22 electric double-decker buses to the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). The ceremonial flag-off of the electric double-decker bus took place at GIFT City, with Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, officiating the event. Notable dignitaries present during the inaugural ride included Minister of State for Transport, Harsh Sanghavi; GIFT City Chairman, Hasmukh Adhia; GIFT City Managing Director, Tapan Ray; Additional Chief Secretary (Ports, Transport, Revenue) MK Das, and GSRTC MD MA Gandhi.

The operational scope of these state-of-the-art e-buses will cover the route between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad along the SG Highway, presenting an eco-friendly and sustainable commuting solution for the region's residents.

Mahesh Babu, Switch Mobility Automotive's CEO, expressed pride in contributing to Gujarat's commitment to sustainable progress. Having unveiled the country's inaugural EV double-decker, the SWITCH EiV 22, in August 2022, he emphasized the company's dedication to reshaping urban mobility. The CEO highlighted that these groundbreaking double-deckers would not only enhance efficiency on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad route but would also offer passengers a panoramic, comfortable, and electrifying experience. The buses boast spacious interiors, premium seating, and innovative features such as extra-wide doors, ushering in a new era of elevated commuter comfort.
