Takamatsu, Japan – Tadano Ltd., a lifting equipment provider, has officially entered the North American mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) market. With a full lineup of boom lifts designed for superior stability, safety, and efficiency, the company is bringing its decades of experience in aerial platform technology from Japan to the U.S. and Canada.

The newly introduced MEWP range includes both wheeled and crawler chassis configurations, offering versatile solutions for a variety of work environments. Tadano’s focus is on delivering machines that perform in demanding conditions while maximizing operator safety and jobsite productivity.

Crawler Series: Articulated and Telescopic Boom Lifts

The crawler-based models are tailored for rough terrain applications, capable of operating on surfaces like mud and sand with up to 5 degrees of tilt.

AS-58CJ: This jib-equipped model offers a platform height of 57 ft 9 in (17.6 m) and a horizontal outreach of 40 ft 2 in (12.2 m). It supports dual platform capacities of 750 lbs (340 kg) and 550 lbs (250 kg). The steel tracks with grey non-marking pads deliver a ground pressure of 6.86 psi in travel mode.

AS-58C: Featuring a platform height of 58 ft 1 in (17.7 m) and a maximum outreach of 50 ft 6 in (15.4 m), this model supports dual lifting capacities of 990 lbs (450 kg) or 550 lbs (250 kg). It runs on a 32-hp (23.9-kW) Kubota D1803 engine and has a travel ground pressure of 5.8 psi.

AS-42CJ: Designed for tight-access areas, this jibbed unit has a platform capacity of 550 lbs (250 kg) and a travel ground pressure of 6.77 psi.

AS-42C: This mid-sized telescopic crawler boom offers a 41 ft 8 in (12.7 m) platform height and a 36 ft 9 in (11.2 m) outreach. It supports dual-platform capacities of 990 lbs (450 kg) and 550 lbs (250 kg), features steel tracks with grey non-marking pads, and is powered by a 23.5-hp (17.5-kW) Kubota D1305 engine. Ground pressure is rated at 6.53 psi.

AS-32C: Compact yet capable, this model offers a 31 ft 10 in (9.7 m) platform height, a 25 ft 11 in (7.9 m) outreach, and a platform capacity of 440 lbs (200 kg). Its 19.3-hp (14.4-kW) Kubota D1105 engine powers non-marking rubber tracks, producing 6.1 psi ground pressure.

eAA-22C: A fully electric, compact articulated boom lift built for sensitive indoor and urban environments. It offers a platform height of 22 ft 4 in (6.8 m), outreach of 14 ft 9 in (4.5 m), and 330-lb (150-kg) capacity. With zero-emission operation, 360-degree continuous rotation, and a runtime of up to three days per charge, it’s a highly versatile option.

Wheeled Chassis Models: Telescopic Boom Lifts

AS-69J: Built for high-reach jobs, this model delivers a 68 ft 7 in (20.9 m) platform height and a 54 ft 10 in (16.7 m) outreach. A jib arm adds flexibility for complex worksite needs.

AS-63HD: With a robust 62 ft 8 in (19.1 m) platform height and a remarkable 2,200-lb (1,000-kg) platform capacity, this heavy-duty model is ideal for high-occupancy tasks—supporting up to 10 people. It merges boom lift outreach with RT scissor lift verticality and includes features like 4-motion control, 360-degree platform rotation, and up to 40% gradeability. It’s powered by a 74.3-hp (55.4-kW) Kubota V3800 engine and offers a travel speed of 3 mph (4.8 km/h).

Mr. Erik Elzinga, Vice President of AWP Business Development for Pan-America operations, said, “Tadano’s growth in the Americas has been extraordinary over the last several years. While our crane market share is very strong, we saw an opportunity to complement that success with additional product lines. Tadano has a long history of aerial crawler work platform expertise in Japan. The opportunity is to take our experience and apply it in the Americas.”

With this expansion, Tadano aims to strengthen its position in North America by offering a diverse and technologically advanced MEWP portfolio designed to meet the demands of modern jobsites.
