Nagano, Japan - Takeuchi Mfg. Co., Ltd., a heavy construction machinery company, has launched the new TB3150 and TB3150R excavators, replacing the previous TB2150 and TB2150R models.
Both 15-ton machines share the same platform but are designed for different applications. The TB3150 features a boom swing system for offset digging, while the TB3150R has a reduced-tail-swing design for confined worksites. The TB3150R is also available with an optional two-piece boom.
The new models feature Takeuchi’s 3-Series upgrades, including increased hydraulic power, improved operator comfort, all-steel construction and enhanced security.
A key update is the introduction of a 114-horsepower Yanmar engine, replacing the previous Deutz unit. Takeuchi says the revised engine and cooling system have increased hydraulic horsepower by around 14%.
The TB3150 weighs 34,755 pounds, while the TB3150R ranges from 35,000 to 36,265 pounds depending on the boom configuration. Both models deliver a maximum bucket breakout force of 21,649 pound-feet.
Maximum digging depth is 17 feet 10 inches for the TB3150 and 19 feet 9 inches for the TB3150R. Improved multifunction hydraulic performance also allows operators to carry out multiple machine movements with less loss of speed or power.
