Talcher - A three-day Agricultural Machinery Expo was inaugurated at the Talcher College field, aiming to promote farm mechanization and improve agricultural productivity by providing farmers access to the latest equipment and technologies.
The District Agriculture Officer announced that farmers can avail subsidies of up to 50 percent on a wide range of agricultural machinery under government-supported schemes. The expo showcased tractors, power tillers, harvesters, seed drills, sprayers, and other modern implements designed to reduce manual labour and enhance efficiency. Live demonstrations were also organised to help farmers better understand the operation and benefits of advanced machines.
Farmers who have adopted innovative and transparent farming practices were recognised with certificates and awards, encouraging others to embrace modern and sustainable agricultural methods. Officials from the agriculture department were present to guide farmers on subsidy procedures, loan facilities, and best practices for machinery adoption.
The event witnessed strong participation from farmers across the region, many of whom expressed interest in investing in modern equipment at subsidised rates. Authorities said the initiative is expected to boost crop yields, lower input costs, and improve overall farm profitability.
By creating a platform for interaction between farmers, equipment manufacturers, and agricultural experts, the expo is set to play a key role in strengthening the local agricultural economy and supporting long-term rural development.
