      Mumbai- Tata AutoComp Systems Limited., an auto components sector and part of the Tata Group., has announced plans to establish a 50:50 joint venture with Japan’s Ichikoh Industries Limited., to acquire the lighting business of Valeo in India. The proposed joint venture will purchase Valeo Lighting Systems from Valeo India Private Limited.

      This strategic collaboration aims to strengthen both companies’ presence in the Indian automotive lighting market. Definitive agreements for the joint venture and acquisition are currently being finalized, with the transaction subject to necessary statutory and regulatory approvals.

      The planned acquisition marks Tata AutoComp’s continued expansion in the automotive components space and provides Ichikoh with a strategic entry into the Indian market via a strong local alliance. The deal’s completion timeline will depend on regulatory clearances and execution of final agreements.
