Tata Motors partners with TPREL for 131 MW wind-solar project to power 6 plants, cut CO₂ by 2L tons/year & boost green manufacturing
Date: April 22, 2025Mumbai- Tata Motors Limited., an automobile manufacturer, has partnered with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL)., a subsidiary of Tata Power and a key player in India’s clean energy transition, to co-develop a landmark 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project through a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Designed to generate around 300 million units of clean electricity annually, the project is expected to offset more than 200,000 tons of CO₂ emissions every year. The integrated hybrid solution will deliver a reliable supply of green and cost-effective energy exclusively to Tata Motors’ six manufacturing facilities across Maharashtra and Gujarat supporting the sustainable production of both commercial and passenger vehicles.
This initiative marks a significant leap forward in Tata Motors’ clean energy journey as the company works toward achieving its RE100 commitment ahead of its 2030 target. It also reinforces Tata Motors’ broader vision of reaching net-zero emissions and becoming a leader in environmentally responsible manufacturing.
