      Tata Motors CV Sets Patent Filing Record

      Mumbai- Tata Motors Ltd., a commercial vehicle manufacturer, has recorded its highest annual patent filing performance for its Commercial Vehicles business, with 144 patent applications filed in FY26.

      The filings focus on key technology areas such as vehicle safety, reliability, total cost of ownership, occupant comfort and sustainable mobility. They also cover future-focused solutions, including electric vehicle technologies and hydrogen internal combustion engine systems.

      In addition to patent filings, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles filed 21 design applications and 35 copyright applications during the year. The company also received 15 patent grants, taking its total granted patents to over 650.

      The achievement highlights Tata Motors’ strong focus on engineering-led innovation and its continued efforts to deliver advanced, efficient and customer-focused commercial vehicle solutions.

      Mr.  Aniruddha Kulkarni, Vice President and Head – Engineering, Tata Motors Ltd., said the record filings reflect the creativity and technical strength of the company’s engineering teams, while reinforcing Tata Motors’ ambition to become a global benchmark for innovation in commercial mobility.
