Mumbai- Tata Motors Limited., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EV leasing platform Drivn to explore leasing-based deployment of electric commercial vehicles for fleet operators across India. Under the partnership, Drivn will offer customised leasing solutions for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle portfolio, helping fleet operators adopt electric trucks with lower upfront investment and more flexible financing options.
The collaboration aims to address key barriers to fleet electrification, including financing, deployment timelines and charging infrastructure. Drivn provides customised operating lease solutions for commercial fleets, while Tata Motors brings its broad electric commercial vehicle portfolio, nationwide service network and experience in fleet operations.
Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Ltd., said, “Tata Motors is committed to democratising clean mobility and accelerating India’s transition towards sustainable transportation. Together with Drivn, we aim to make electric trucks more accessible to our customers.”
Drivn plans to deploy more than 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years through the partnership. The company expects its leasing model to help fleet operators manage upfront costs while providing a more scalable route to electrification.
Tata Motors recently introduced a comprehensive range of electric trucks from 7 to 55 tonnes under the Tata Trucks.ev brand. Built on the new I-MOEV (Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle) Architecture, the portfolio is designed for applications including e-commerce logistics, construction material transportation and port operations.
Supported by expanding EV charging infrastructure and Tata Motors’ nationwide service network, the partnership is expected to strengthen electric commercial vehicle adoption and support India’s transition towards zero-emission freight transportation.
