Tata Motors Inaugurates Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Kolkata
Tata Motors has inaugurated its eighth scrapping facility, Re.Wi.Re, in Kolkata. With a capacity to dismantle 21,000 vehicles annually, it supports safe, digital, and sustainable scrapping of all vehicle types.

Kolkata- Tata Motors Limited., a commercial vehicle manufacturer, has inaugurated its eighth Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) in Kolkata, West Bengal. Named Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect, this state-of-the-art facility is built to sustainably and safely dismantle up to 21,000 end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) per year. Operated in partnership with Selladale Synergies India Pvt. Ltd., the facility is equipped to scrap vehicles of all brands, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Snehasis Chakraborty, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Government of West Bengal, and Mr. Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata and Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, who joined the event virtually. Also present were Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, along with other senior dignitaries from Tata Motors and the Government of West Bengal.
With this launch, Tata Motors now operates RVSFs in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, Pune, Guwahati, and Kolkata. The Kolkata facility is the third Re.Wi.Re center in eastern India, enhancing accessibility and convenience for customers in the region.

Each Re.Wi.Re facility is fully digital, with seamless and paperless operations. It features cell-type dismantling for commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers, and line-type dismantling for passenger vehicles. Dedicated stations ensure the safe removal of components such as tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases. Every vehicle is processed through a thorough documentation and dismantling system, aligned with India's vehicle scrappage policy, to ensure safe and responsible disposal. Re.Wi.Re represents a significant step forward in promoting sustainability in the automotive sector.
