Tata Motors Opens Advanced Re.Wi.Re Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Patna

Patna - Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has inaugurated its advanced Re.Wi.Re (Recycle With Respect) vehicle-scrapping facility in Patna, Bihar. The registered vehicle scrapping facility was opened by Bihar Transport Minister Shri Damodar Rawat and is equipped to responsibly dismantle end-of-life vehicles from all brands and segments, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

Located across 5.5 acres and operated by the Kalahanu Bothra Group, the facility can safely process up to 15,000 vehicles annually.

Shri Damodar Rawat, Hon'ble Minister for Transport, Government of Bihar, said, "The launch of this Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Patna is a significant step towards safer roads and a cleaner transport ecosystem for the state. In line with the National Vehicle Scrappage Policy, the facility will help phase out old and unfit vehicles in a scientific and responsible manner, while encouraging owners to move to newer, safer and more fuel-efficient vehicles. Modernising our vehicle fleet is essential to reducing emissions and improving road safety across Bihar. I congratulate Tata Motors and the Kalahanu Group on this initiative and look forward to more such efforts that advance safe and sustainable mobility in the state."

With the addition of the Patna facility, Tata Motors has expanded its Re.Wi.Re network to 12 vehicle-scrapping centres across Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, Pune, Guwahati, Raipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Patna.

Each facility operates through a fully digital and paperless system. Commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers are processed through cell-based dismantling, while passenger vehicles undergo line-based dismantling. Dedicated stations safely handle tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, fluids and gases. Every vehicle follows a structured documentation and dismantling process to ensure responsible recycling and safe disposal in accordance with India’s vehicle scrappage policy.
