Mumbai- Tata Motors Limited., has taken a landmark step in transforming India’s trucking landscape with the launch of its next-generation portfolio of 17 trucks ranging from 7 to 55 tonnes. The comprehensive rollout introduces the all-new Azura series, an advanced Tata Trucks.ev electric range, and major upgrades to the Prima, Signa, and Ultra platforms redefining standards in safety, profitability, and sustainable mobility.
Engineered to meet stringent global crash safety norms (ECE R29.03), the new truck range is designed to maximise earning potential, reduce total cost of ownership, and improve vehicle uptime. The launch aligns with India’s evolving logistics needs, driven by modern infrastructure, progressive policies, and growing demand for safer and cleaner transportation.
Speaking at the launch, Tata Motors leadership highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, localisation, and customer success. The new portfolio features high-efficiency powertrains, European-standard cabins, higher payload capacity, improved fuel efficiency, and seamless integration with Fleet Edge digital services reinforcing Tata Motors’ “Better Always” philosophy and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The all-new Azura range is purpose-built for the intermediate and light commercial vehicle segment, combining performance, comfort, and productivity. Powered by a new 3.6-litre diesel engine, Azura delivers best-in-class efficiency and reliability. Offered in 7–19 tonne configurations, it is suited for e-commerce, FMCG, construction materials, agriculture, and regional logistics applications.
Tata Motors has upgraded its entire truck portfolio including Azura, Signa, Prima, and Ultra to comply with ECE R29.03 global safety standards. Reinforced cabins provide frontal, rollover, and side-impact protection, supported by up to 23 India-specific advanced active safety technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and collision mitigation systems. Real-time driver behaviour monitoring through Fleet Edge further enhances safety.
The upgraded range delivers payload increases of up to 1.8 tonnes and fuel efficiency improvements of up to 7%, enabled by advanced drivetrains including a 6.7-litre Cummins diesel engine. Enhanced digital solutions, including Fleet Edge Priority, offer real-time vehicle health monitoring, predictive analytics, and trip optimisation boosting asset utilisation and returns on investment.
