Tata Power signs MoU with Assam Government

Tata Power is prepared to roll out a network of 10 advanced EV chargers as part of this project.

Mumbai- Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited., a Tata Power Group Company, collaboration with the Assam Government, intended to improve the ecosystem for electric vehicles. The convenience of EV charging infrastructure will be introduced through this key agreement, which was formalised by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the vibrant city of Guwahati. Tata Power is prepared to roll out a network of 10 advanced EV chargers as part of this project, strategically positioned across 10 major places as a pilot within the city, with key installations planned for high-traffic regions like Dispur.

The signing of the MoU was attended by Assam's Transport Minister, Shri. Parimal Suklabaidya, and other dignitaries including Mr. Adil Khan(IAS), Mr. Rabin Kumar(IPS), and Mr. Virendra Goyal Head- Business development (EV Charging), Tata Power. This partnership aligns with Tata Power's commitment to sustainable mobility and supports Assam Government's vision for eco-friendly transportation and electric vehicle adoption.

Hon’ble Transport Minister of Assam, Shri. Parimal Suklabaidya said that, In our partnership with Tata Power, a well-known pioneer in the electric charging industry, we demonstrate our shared objective of enhancing sustainability and raising the standard of living for Assamese citizens. This programme not only ensures safer, more environmentally friendly transportation, but also significantly improves the lives of our inhabitants. Together, we remain steadfast in our determination to help Assamese citizens create a better world and a more promising future.

Mr. Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging) at Tata Power, said that, "In our steadfast pursuit of network expansion, we are meticulously exploring distinctive locations for charger deployment," the company's statement explaining its strategic approach to network expansion and charger deployment in specialised areas of Assam said.
