Tata Punch Achieves 500,000 Sales Milestone

Tata Punch has surpassed 500,000 sales in 38 months, topping CY2024 with 202,031 units and 148,000 units sold in FY2025 so far.

Mumbai - Tata Motors Limited., an automotive company’s, popular compact SUV, Tata Punch, offered in petrol, CNG, and electric variants, has achieved over 500,000 cumulative sales in just 38 months since its launch. Leading as India’s best-selling passenger vehicle and SUV with 202,031 units sold in CY2024, it has already moved 148,000 units in the first nine months of FY2025.

Since its launch, the Tata Punch has contributed 29% to Tata Motors total passenger vehicle sales of 1.73 million. It set milestones by achieving 100,000 sales in 10 months, 200,000 in 20 months, 300,000 in 28 months, and 400,000 in 32 months. The leap from 400,000 to 500,000 took just six months, underscoring strong demand.

Tata Punch quickly identified a niche in the Indian PV market. Available in 33 variants - petrol, CNG, and electric and it offers a compelling, affordable entry-level SUV that competes with premium hatchbacks, tall-boy hatchbacks, and compact sedans in India's value-conscious market.

The Tata Punch had best fiscal year in FY2024 with 169,844 units sold, averaging 14,153 units per month. In FY2025, it has already reached 87% of FY2024 sales, with a 27% YoY increase in average monthly sales (16,452 units). On track to hit 200,000 units this fiscal, it may even surpass CY2024 record of 202,031 units, though new product launches in early 2025 could pose some challenges.

The Tata Punch continues to outperform expectations, with 148,068 units dispatched in the first nine months of FY2025. Leading the Top 10 PV table, surpasses models like the Maruti Ertiga, Brezza, Hyundai Creta, and Tata Nexon. The Punch has consistently outsold its sibling, the Nexon, since January 2024, despite Nexon being India’s best-selling SUV in previous years.
