Mumbai- TATA.ev, an Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), has announced plans to expand the country’s charging infrastructure to 400,000 points by 2027. Building on its success of over 200,000 EV sales, TATA.ev will more than double the number of charging stations, with a focus on both public and private/home chargers.

Since 2019, TATA.ev has been advancing EV infrastructure through collaborations with Tata Group companies and Charge Point Operators (CPOs), resulting in a rapid growth of chargers across key hotspots and highways. With the introduction of 'Open Collaboration 2.0', TATA.ev aims to add 30,000 new public chargers, strengthen its network, and improve EV adoption.

TATA.ev is set to revolutionize India’s EV charging infrastructure with an ambitious plan to install 400,000 charging points by 2027. Through Open Collaboration 2.0, the company aims to add over 30,000 public chargers, further enhancing accessibility. The introduction of TATA.ev Verified Chargers, accessible via the iRA app, will allow users to easily find reliable charging options nearby. Additionally, TATA.ev plans to install 500+ Mega Chargers offering priority access and services for its customers. The company has also launched a 24×7 Dedicated Charging Helpline for any queries and will introduce a Unified Payments Wallet for seamless transactions.

This initiative will enhance the speed, reliability, and user experience of charging, while improving the viability of CPOs and facilitating their growth. To enhance the charging experience, we are introducing through partnerships, TATA.ev Mega Chargers in key cities and highways, along with TATA.ev Verified Chargers assuring quality infrastructure. Additionally, a unified Charging Helpline and seamless payment solution are being introduced to help address customer concerns and to make the charging ecosystem more accessible and dependable as EV adoption continues to rise.”

As part of Open Collaboration 2.0, TATA.ev is launching a network of 500 TATA.ev Mega Chargers in partnership with leading CPOs—Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq, and Zeon. These superfast chargers, equipped with 4 charging bays, will be deployed across key cities and highways in the first phase. While open to all EVs, TATA.ev customers will receive priority access, faster service, and tariff benefits.

The chargers will be easily accessible via the iRA.ev app, allowing users to track and pay for services across all partner CPO chargers without the need for multiple apps. TATA.ev continues to lead India’s EV transformation, focusing on convenient, high-quality charging and advancing the shift to a sustainable future.
