Bloomington, Minnesota - The Toro Company., a construction solutions company, has announced the sale of its Trencor equipment brand along with the auger boring product category, a subset of its American Augers brand. Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
The move signals Toro’s intention to sharpen its focus on core growth categories within the underground construction sector. Following the divestitures, the company will continue to produce American Augers’ range of underground machinery including large horizontal directional drills, pumps, and fluid cleaning systems - at its West Salem, Ohio facility.
As part of the Trencor sale, Toro is transferring assets related to the full line of large-track trenchers and mining equipment.

The company emphasized that these divestitures reflect its ongoing commitment to disciplined portfolio management and capital allocation, ensuring resources are directed toward the most profitable and strategically aligned segments. Revenue contributions from Trencor and auger boring have historically been reported under Toro’s Professional segment.
By realigning its portfolio, The Toro Company aims to strengthen its competitive position in underground construction while unlocking greater efficiency gains and delivering advanced solutions tailored to customer needs.
