Date: December 20, 2024
Kiyosu, Japan - Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., an automotive company, has acquired a stake in EV Motors Japan Co., Ltd. (EVM-J), a startup specializing in the development and sale of commercial electric vehicles, including trucks and buses.
EVM-J commercial electric vehicles are designed to provide significant advantages, including reduced power loss during acceleration and deceleration, extended driving range, and minimized battery load, all contributing to longer battery life. These improvements are made possible by an innovative, high-efficiency motor control system developed by the company.
As EVM-J expands its production capabilities in Japan, it is also constructing the country’s first mass production assembly plant dedicated to commercial electric vehicles in Kitakyushu City. This facility will be part of the Zero Emission e-PARK, a unique complex where all aspects of electric vehicles can be explored and experienced.
As the automotive industry undergoes significant transformation with the advancement of CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric technologies), Toyoda Gosei is focusing on sustainable growth by cultivating new business areas and driving innovation. In line with this strategy, the company has acquired a stake in EVM-J, with the aim of deepening its understanding of electric vehicles (EVs).
Through personnel exchanges and various collaborative efforts with EVM-J, Toyoda Gosei seeks to gain hands-on experience in the entire EV process-from development to manufacturing. This partnership will help expand Toyoda Gosei’s knowledge of new mobility solutions and support the company’s broader efforts to adapt to the evolving automotive landscape.
