Kiyosu, Japan- Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. has developed an innovative steering wheel tailored for next-generation steer-by-wire systems. This advanced design enhances driving comfort and is engineered to deliver a modern, responsive steering experience. The new steering wheel will debut on the Lexus RZ battery electric vehicle, produced by Toyota Motor Corporation, specifically on its F Sport variant.

The steering wheel features a sleek, compact yoke-like shape, resembling that of an aircraft control system. This design is made possible by the steer-by-wire system, which eliminates the mechanical link between the steering wheel and the tires. Instead, it uses electronic signals to control tire angle, allowing precise maneuvers such as U-turns or parking with minimal rotation reducing driver effort and improving ease of operation.

Toyoda Gosei applied its deep expertise in ergonomic design to optimize the structure and grip of the wheel. High-quality craftsmanship is also evident in the use of real or synthetic leather wrapping, achieved through advanced production techniques.

This new development represents a step forward in combining form, function, and driver comfort in the era of electronic steering systems.
