Date: September 21, 2024Bengaluru- Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited (TKM)., today showcased a specially modified Hilux, developed with the support of an authorized external vendor, at the Himtech 2024 symposium. Organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with FICCI, this event focuses on advancing military technology for high-altitude areas, aligning with the national goal of “Raksha Atmanirbharta.” Held on 20th-21st September 2024 at the Rinchen Auditorium Grounds, Leh, Ladakh, the event saw participation from senior officials across the Army, Air Force, ITBP, and defense organizations, along with representatives from TKM.
Driven by Toyota’s QDR (Quality, Durability, and Reliability), this 4x4 all-terrain vehicle is expertly engineered for demanding environments, making it ideal for diverse customers, including the Indian Army, with modifications supported by authorized vendors. TKM’s showcased customized Hilux highlights its versatility and robust capabilities for both defense and commercial applications, reinforcing their commitment to providing tailored solutions for varied markets under the banner of ‘Mobility for All.
Hilux FDV (Field Deployment Vehicle): Proven in trials with the Northern Indian Army, this heavy-duty model excels in remote diagnostics, repairs, and supply transport. Built for challenging military operations, it’s ideal for tough environments.

Last year, TKM presented the Hilux Field Diagnosis Vehicle (FDV) and Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV) at the North Tech Symposium for the Indian Army, marking its first fleet delivery. The company also offered off-road driving and maintenance training for army personnel, highlighting Toyota’s support for India’s defense self-reliance through its mobility expertise.
