PLANO, Texas, USA – Toyota Motor Corporation, an automaker, has strengthened this distinctive formula with refreshed exterior styling and upgraded performance. The XLE, Limited and Nightshade grades now feature the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System, while the range-topping Platinum continues with the more powerful Hybrid MAX powertrain.
The XLE, Limited and Nightshade variants also gain paddle shifters, delivering a more responsive and engaging driving experience.
Refined Styling and Interior
The 2027 Toyota Crown gains a redesigned rear bumper, satin-finish hybrid and AWD badges, and a new Inked black exterior colour. The Platinum grade adds red brake calipers, black window trim and an updated two-tone paint design, while the Nightshade receives black badge overlays.
Inside, Saddle Tan seating is newly available on the Limited and Platinum grades, with expanded exterior and interior colour combinations.
Hybrid Performance
The Crown is offered in XLE, Limited, Nightshade and Platinum grades, all with standard AWD.
The XLE, Limited and Nightshade use Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, combining a 2.5-litre engine with electric motors and delivering an estimated 40 mpg combined.
The Platinum features the Hybrid MAX system, producing 340 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque from a 2.4-litre turbocharged hybrid engine and six-speed automatic transmission.
Driving Technology
Electronic On-Demand AWD is fitted to the standard hybrid grades, while the Platinum uses Full-Time Electronic AWD for stronger performance and stability.
Available drive modes include Normal, Eco, Sport and Custom, with the Platinum also offering Rear Comfort mode. The model features MacPherson-strut front suspension, a multilink rear setup and advanced braking assistance.
Cabin Features
The Crown includes leather-trimmed seating, 12.3-inch digital displays, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, wireless charging and multiple USB-C ports.
Higher grades add a panoramic moonroof, Panoramic View Monitor, head-up display and power-adjustable steering wheel.
Connectivity and Audio
All 2027 Toyota Crown grades feature a 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual Bluetooth connectivity and over-the-air software updates.
The XLE includes a six-speaker audio system, while the Limited, Nightshade and Platinum receive an 11-speaker JBL premium system. Connected Services trials are also available, with Digital Key capability offered on the Limited and Platinum through Remote Connect.

The Nightshade adds 21-inch matte-black wheels, dark exterior trim, a panoramic roof, JBL audio, LED headlights and parking assistance.
The Limited gains 21-inch alloy wheels, a Panoramic View Monitor, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert and Digital Key capability.
The Platinum adds the Hybrid MAX powertrain, adaptive suspension, dynamic rear steering, red brake calipers, a head-up display, power-adjustable steering and a hands-free power trunk.
Safety Features
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the range. It includes pre-collision assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-tracing support, road-sign recognition, automatic high beams and Proactive Driving Assist.
Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Safe Exit Alert and a Rear Seat Reminder are also standard.
