United Kingdom- Triumph Motorcycles Limited., has introduced the new Bonneville T40 and Bonneville T40 Black, expanding its iconic Bonneville range with two 400cc motorcycles. The new models combine classic styling and premium craftsmanship with modern technology, aiming to make the traditional Bonneville riding experience accessible to more riders.
The Bonneville T40 and T40 Black feature styling inspired by the 1960s, including a sculpted teardrop fuel tank, round headlight, traditional engine profile, spoked wheels and twin-shock rear suspension. Heritage-inspired two-tone paint schemes, hand-painted coach lining, brushed peashooter exhaust silencers and aluminium engine covers further enhance their classic appearance.
Both motorcycles are powered by a dedicated version of Triumph’s 400cc TR Series engine, tuned specifically for the Bonneville range. The engine is designed to deliver relaxed, torque-focused performance and a distinctive exhaust note, supporting comfortable everyday riding while retaining the character associated with the Bonneville name.
The new models combine traditional design with updated rider-focused technology. Features include a 4-inch circular TFT display with smartphone connectivity, navigation, phone and music controls, along with five riding modes, cruise control, lean-sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS and Optimised Cornering Traction Control. A modern chassis and lightweight aluminium rims are designed to support agile handling and everyday manoeuvrability.
Mr. Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer, Triumph Motorcycles, said, “The Bonneville is one of the most significant motorcycles in Triumph's history, so introducing a new model carrying that name comes with a responsibility to get it right. Our ambition for the T40 and T40 Black was to deliver the style, character and ownership experience riders expect from a genuine Bonneville while making the experience accessible to more riders.”
