TVS Motor reports 7% YoY growth in December sales, with electric vehicle (EV) sales rising 79% to 20,171 units, up from 11,288 units last year.

Hosur - TVS Motor Company., an automobile company, reported a 7% year-on-year increase in December sales, totaling 321,687 units. While two-wheeler sales raise by 8%, three-wheeler sales declined by 18% in December 2024.
The company saw an increase in total two-wheeler sales, reaching 312,002 units in December, up from 290,064 units in the same month last year. Of this, 215,075 units were sold in the domestic market, a slight rise from 214,988 units sold in the previous year.
Scooter sales saw a strong 30% growth, reaching 133,919 units, while motorcycle sales fell to 144,811 units, down from 148,049 units in December 2023. However, three-wheeler sales dropped by 18% year-on-year to 9,685 units in December.
Electric vehicle (EV) sales surged to 20,171 units in December, reflecting a 79% year-on-year increase from 11,288 units. The company has emphasized EVs as a top priority and plans to expand its portfolio with more affordable two-wheelers. Additionally, TVS Motor exported 96,927 two-wheelers, a 29% increase from 75,076 units in the same period last year. Overall, total exports grew by 22% year-on-year, reaching 104,393 units in December 2024.
The company experienced robust growth of 11%, with total sales of 11.8 lakh two-wheelers. Of this, electric two-wheeler sales reached 76,000 units, up from 48,000 units in the third quarter of FY24. However, three-wheeler sales declined to 29,000 units, down from 38,000 units in the same quarter of the previous year.
