Chennai- TVS Motor Company., unveiled its RT-XD4 300 engine, at Motosoul 2024 in Goa. This advanced platform features dual overhead cams, dual oil pumps, dual cooling jackets, and a dual breather system. Set to debut in a 300cc adventure motorcycle by mid-2025, it showcases TVS's engineering prowess.
Mr. Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS Motor Company, said, “The TVS RT-XD4 marks a significant milestone, reflecting our commitment to delivering a distinctive and immersive TVS riding experience. Conceptualized, designed, and developed entirely in-house at our R&D Centre in Hosur, the RT-XD4 showcases our engineering excellence and research capabilities.”
The 299.1cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivers 34.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a 6-speed transmission, it features a Ride-by-Wire throttle system and an Assist & Slipper clutch. Key highlights of the RT-XD4 engine include Plasma spray-coating, a high-inertia shell-bearing crankshaft, and a helical gear-driven balancer system.
