Shanghai, China- U Power Limited., a provider of electric vehicle (EV) battery-swapping solutions, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Beijing Foton International Trade Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beijing Foton Motor Co., Ltd., one of China's major commercial vehicle manufacturers.

Under the terms of the MOU, U Power and Beijing Foton will collaborate to promote battery-swapping compatible electric heavy trucks, buses, and vans in key international markets, including Southeast Asia, South America, Hong Kong SAR, and Macau SAR.

As part of the partnership, U Power will offer technical support to integrate battery-swapping systems into Foton’s commercial vehicle platforms. The company will also assist in the development and testing of compatible battery-swapping stations and connect Foton’s EV models to its broader battery-bank ecosystem.

Beijing Foton, in turn, will share vehicle performance data such as battery health, charging behavior, and capacity metrics to support optimization and innovation. The MOU also leaves room for future expansion into additional areas of cooperation between the two companies.

This collaboration marks a step forward in the global adoption of battery-swapping technology, aiming to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and accelerate the deployment of electric commercial vehicles.

Mr. Johnny Lee, CEO and Chairman of U Power, said, "This partnership marks another significant step forward in our strategy of expanding OEM partner base. Through joint promotional and sales efforts, U Power expects to accelerate the establishment of a comprehensive battery-swapping and battery-bank ecosystem in several of its existing key markets. We look forward to a strong collaboration with Beijing Foton to strategically expand our global footprint and increase our market share."
