Bengaluru- Ultraviolette Automotive Private Ltd., has partnered with Bold.Earth to launch a nationwide Type–6 DC fast-charging network for two- and three-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) in India. This collaboration aims to make EV charging faster, reliable, and standardized for small EVs like e-bikes, scooters, motorcycles, e-rickshaws, and light electric freight vehicles.
The Type–6 standard ensures all compatible vehicles can charge easily without any hardware changes. Chargers are already installed in Kerala, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu, with more stations coming soon. Fast chargers can charge Ultraviolette X-47 and F77 motorcycles from 0–80% in around 2.5 hours and full charge in about 3.5 hours. Safety features include short circuit protection, voltage protection, earth detection, reverse polarity protection, and emergency stop.
Mr. Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder & CTO, Ultraviolette, said, “This partnership will boost rider confidence and accelerate EV adoption across India by providing easy and scalable charging access.”
Mr. S. Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO & Co-founder, Bolt. Earth, said, “Blaze DC chargers follow the Type–6 standard, providing reliable charging for both current and future two- and three-wheeler EVs. This will form the backbone of nationwide EV charging.”
Bolt. Earth plans to launch 6kW and 12kW Blaze DC chargers and aims to deploy 2,000 chargers across India over the next 24 months, creating one of India’s largest public fast-charging networks for small EVs.
