Uno Minda appoints Vivek Jindal as Whole-time Director and A G Giridharan as CEO for SCS. They also approved investment in Strongsun Renewables for solar power in Maharashtra.

New Delhi- Uno Minda, has announced key appointments and strategic decisions in its recent regulatory filing. Vivek Jindal has been appointed as Whole-time Director for a three-year term spanning from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027. Additionally, A G Giridharan assumes the role of CEO for the Safety and Comfort System Domain (SCS).
These appointments, recommended by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and subsequently approved by the Board of Directors, are contingent upon the approval of the company's members.
Vivek Jindal brings with him 19 years of seasoned experience in the automotive sector. He holds an engineering degree from IIT Delhi, an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business (University of Pittsburgh - USA), and has completed the Executive MBA program (PLD) from Harvard Business School. Before this role, Jindal held positions at Infosys Technologies and India Bulls.
A G Giridharan, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta, boasts a remarkable 35-year career encompassing diverse domains such as Consumer & Industrial markets, Business Strategy, Performance Improvement, and Automotive Product Division Planning.
In addition to these appointments, the Board of Directors has approved an investment of approximately INR 2.27 crores in Strongsun Renewables Pvt. Ltd. This investment, supplementing the company's existing portfolio, will involve subscription of equity shares in the special purpose vehicle (SPV), aimed at sourcing additional solar power under the captive open access policy. This initiative is intended to support Uno Minda's Alloy Wheel 2W division located in Supa, Maharashtra, and may be executed in one or multiple tranches.
