Uttar Pradesh – The Uttar Pradesh government has announced subsidies on the purchase of agricultural drones and machinery. The initiative aims to improve farm productivity while reducing the workload on farmers across the state.
Farmers interested in availing the subsidy can submit their applications online through the official portal www.agridarshan.up.gov.in. The application window opened on June 27 and will remain open until July 12. To apply, farmers need to visit the portal and click on the “Yantra Booking Prarambh” (Equipment Booking Start) option available under the “Kisan Corner” section. The portal also offers comprehensive information regarding equipment specifications, booking procedures, and details about the subsidy schemes.
According to a statement from the state Agriculture Department, subsidies are being provided under key schemes including the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization, Mechanization for In-Situ Management of Crop Residue, and other related programs. These schemes are designed to support a wide range of equipment and facilities that promote mechanized and sustainable farming.
Farmers in Uttar Pradesh can avail subsidies on a wide range of agricultural tools and technologies under the state’s mechanization schemes. These include High-Tech Hubs for Custom Hiring, Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs), and Farm Machinery Banks, which provide shared access to advanced equipment.
Subsidies are also available for agricultural drones, combine harvesters equipped with Super Straw Management Systems (SMS), and precision tools like pneumatic planters. Additionally, support extends to maize shellers, small warehouses, oil extraction units or mini extraction units, as well as specialized equipment for sugarcane cultivation such as sugarcane settling planters and sugarcane power weeders, including inter- and intra-row PTO-operated weeders.
The government hopes that these subsidies will encourage farmers to adopt modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly farming practices. By easing the financial burden of purchasing high-tech machinery, the initiative is expected to promote mechanized agriculture, improve crop yields, and support sustainable resource management across Uttar Pradesh.
