Miass, Russia- URAL Automotive Plant’s., Chief Information Technology officer Eldar Gumurzakov,, gave a presentation on a proposal to replace imported software products with domestic ones using the company's Digital URAL project as an illustration.

A demo day for the industrial competence center (ICC) "Automotive Industry" was held in conjunction with the Comtrans-2023 trade show, and speakers from the top Russian automakers discussed the status of IT projects funded by the Russian Foundation for the Development of Information Technologies (RFIT).

It should be mentioned that nine businesses are part of the Automotive Manufacturing Center. Demoden ICC serves as a forum for interaction between developers and businesses in the automobile industry to create practical solutions for the migration of automakers to domestic software. Companies participating in the ICC began construction on three particularly noteworthy projects in 2022. They're all connected through their use of engineering and design data management systems.

During the ICC demo day, Eldar Gumurzakov reported on the current state of corporate information systems, spoke about the features and some results of their implementation, and shared development plans for the coming years. “It is very important that we already use only domestic software. Today, the implementation of PLM and ERP allows us to go further to the “shop floor”, continuing and improving the digitalization of the plant,” noted Eldar Maratovich. Let us remind you that the “Digital URAL” project was recognized as the best regional IT project implemented with a grant from RFRIT.

Filipp Bykov, the Deputy Head of RFRIT, discussed the Fund's role in the execution of particularly major projects in the automobile industry during the event. He said that by making it feasible to identify the overarching industrial trend and create technology standards, ICCs considerably reduce the time and expense required to produce industry solutions.

Automakers pointed out to developers during the round table discussion that automotive goods are complicated, have numerous configurations, and dozens of projects are going on at once. Additionally, bringing products to market as soon as possible is the primary responsibility of automakers. This requires multiple information systems to operate together in a single connection.
