Urja Mobility and Sieger Tech partnered to deploy 2500 EV batteries, focusing on cost-effective battery leasing solutions for electric 2Ws and 3Ws.
Date: January 9, 2025New Delhi - Urja Mobility., an EV battery leasing startup, has announced a partnership with Sieger Technologies., an automotive Battery company, to deploy 2,500 advanced batteries for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The initiative, backed by a ₹10 crore investment from Urja Mobility, aims to address the financial barriers associated with battery ownership and accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation.
The collaboration aims to introduce a battery leasing model, providing businesses with a cost-effective alternative to outright battery purchases. This approach is expected to make commercial electric vehicles more accessible, especially for fleet operators.
Mr. Pankaj Chopra, Founder and CEO of Urja Mobility, described the partnership as a step toward making electric mobility more practical and affordable for businesses. "Our ₹10 crore investment in Sieger Technologies will empower fleet operators with reliable, high-performance battery solutions designed to enhance efficiency and sustainability."
Sieger Technologies will supply batteries featuring advanced capabilities, including a smart Battery Management System (BMS) with IoT integration, thermal management, and enhanced energy efficiency through advanced chemistry cells. These batteries are compatible with a range of electric vehicles, such as two- and three-wheelers, and are designed to boost vehicle performance and longevity.
Mr. Guru Prasanth, Founding Partner of Sieger Technologies, said, “It combines advanced battery technology with an innovative leasing model. This collaboration aims to redefine the EV experience for businesses and consumers alike.”
Urja Mobility’s leasing model offers Lithium-Ion batteries in various configurations, including 51.2V-100Ah and 200Ah for three-wheelers, and 51.2V-20Ah to 40Ah for two-wheelers. With fast-charging capabilities, the batteries can fully charge in 2–4 hours. By converting the high upfront cost into affordable monthly lease payments, the model aims to boost electric vehicle adoption and support India’s shift to cleaner, sustainable transportation.
